I bought this to bring along on tag sales or the occasion shop I go to looking at diamond rings and necklaces. I love the fact that the items is inexpensive and works great. My friends even ask me to bring the device along to check up on any jewelry they were given as gifts. lol
Great tool, and very portable. I had a few pieces of jewelry that I wanted appraised, if the diamonds were real. A jeweler told me that it would cost $25 just to determine if the stones were real diamonds, and then another $40 or more for an appraisal. So I bought the diamond tester for a reasonable price and now know what's real and what's not. The tester is easy to use - just be aware of temperature to chose auto or manual, and have an idea of the size of the stone being tested for calibration. I can't wait to take this on my next buying trip to thrift and antique shops! And yes, I did get real lucky once so far - I bought a pair of earrings for 25 cents that turned out to be 14K with 40 small diamonds total!
